PRINCIPAL REPORT - MR PETER HUGHES
Thank you to the families that attended the open classrooms on Wednesday afternoon. On talking with several staff they were pleased with the number of families that visited their classrooms. I hope that you found the visit beneficial and that it gave you a clearer understanding of what they have been doing throughout the year.
On the 19th November we have the second of our multi-age evenings commencing at 6pm in the school library. At this meeting we will again present the rationale for moving to a multi-age setting from Year 1 to Year 6. The majority of the evening will be dedicated to answering questions parents may have, bearing in mind some curriculum issues will not be resolved until we begin planning for 2025. At our first meeting I said I would announce the class teachers for 2025 at the second meeting. This will be done at this meeting and will also be sent home to all families at 7.30pm for those that are unable to attend the meeting. It will be distributed on Compass.

WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING IN OUR CLASSROOMS
3/4R have kicked off starting the term reading our new novel, The One and Only Ivan. The story has us very intrigued and we can’t wait to see what happens next. This week in Maths we had some fun making Spooky 3D Objects.
This term in STEM our Stage 1 students are looking at ways to look after our local environment throughout the seasons. We will be making use of recycled materials, Lego and iPad apps to design and create a sprinkler, a scarecrow, a leaf catcher, a rubbish monster and a sun shelter. Last week we learned how to use the app Pic Edu and created a collage of things we like to do, eat and wear during summer.
