On Wednesday, we took 14 singers from two choirs to participate in the Big Sing at Mother Theresa Primary School in Harrison, ACT. We were one of 7 schools that participated in the event, forming a choir of approximately 150 singers. The students first practiced songs and learnt how to sing together as one large group whilst being accompanied by piano, guitar and drummers. 

After the lunch break, the mass choir performed a concert for the K-2 students at Mother Theresa as well as for the many parents who had come to watch. The choir sounded beautiful whilst singing songs such as We Are Australian (using AUSLAN as well), We Don't Talk About Bruno (from Encanto), Naughty (from Matilda) and many others. The sound of these students singing together with such enthusiasm and joy was just incredible and very heartwarming for those in the audience.

On our way home, we stopped at McDonald's in Yass for a short break where Mr Hughes thought it would be a wonderful opportunity for our little group of singers to do a 'flash mob' of the song Naughty. The students were eager (and brave) to do this and loved it every moment. They received an applause from staff and other diners for their efforts.

A big thank you to our three parent helpers who accompanied us on our adventure - Corinne Terry, Emma Harris and Amy Silk. An even bigger thank you to Mr Hughes for driving the bus and being a wonderful supporter of our choirs. We look forward to taking another group of singers to the Big Sing next year!
